Always On Accurate Color System

The Guide to Always Accurate Color

Always On is ACI's system to ensure color accuracy in every print you order. Follow the simple steps outlined in this guide and you'll see how easy always accurate color can be.

To get started using the Always On system, you'll first need a color reference target print. Most ACI customers will have received this target print in a mailing sent to the studio. If you don't have a target print, contact Customer Service at 800-728-2722 and we will be happy to send one to you.

The target print is for you to compare with the color reference print produced with every order you place. The large center image on the target print will always be about a spot-on match with the included reference print (within 4 CC of lab color)*. This is our way of assuring you that the color of the prints you receive is Always On.

* [CC, or Color Compensating unit, is the method of color measurement developed by Kodak which is used by ACI for color adjustment.]

The final piece of Always On is a digital version of the same reference print included with every order. By matching the color of the reference image as it is displayed on your monitor to the color of the target print, you'll know right away how each image you view on-screen will look on the prints you get back from ACI. The color reference image file can be found on the Downloads page or opened directly here. (Please note that you may need to calibrate the color of your monitor to ensure a proper match.)

And that's all there is to it! Just by making sure that the color of each component continues to match, you'll ensure that the color of your prints is Always On. As always, if you have any questions about the Always On accurate color system or anything else, feel free to call Customer Service at 800-728-2722.
